25 years ago I had an epiphany.  (It wasn’t my last!)  I began to see the importance of understanding my own culture, and preserving the customs that have been important to my family and my friends through the years.  As I started to document the important customs of my own “village,” I became interested in researching other cultures, and haven’t stopped yet.  It is fascinating to discover the common ground, the golden thread that runs through all cultures.  This website is devoted to the preservation of the marvelous art, music, dance, food, holidays, and celebrations of the “folk” around the world.  If you would like to contribute what you know, please contact me via e-mail or twitter.
